Sky Songs, the newest collection of poems & songs by Chiwan Choi, is a reflection of the poet's love of pop songs. Each poem in the book is inspired by a song or pop artist and, if one is musical enough or imaginative enough, can be accompanied by music. But what began as an attempt to write something more lighthearted after the intensity of his previous three books — the Daughter Trilogy — ultimately becomes a series of heartbreak songs, love songs & elegies to his dying father and the final chapter of his nuclear immigrant family.
